Bookcast 10

Hi! Welcome to the first bookcast of 2008-2009. In it, I get serious about series, taking a look at some of the most popular books in our library. There's also info about library scheduling, special events and more. I've given it a new look, as well--I hope you like it--and renamed it "Library Chat" since I talk about more than just books in most bookcasts. Feel free to leave a comment or suggestion by clicking on the word "comments" below!

Bookcast 8

Bookcast 8 is here already, chock-full of books related to the month of April. In this bookcast I cover topics as diverse as Easter Island and Passover, April Fool's Day, Earth Day and Arbor Day, Jazz Appreciation Month, National Poetry Month, Holocaust Remembrance Month and much more. I hope you'll find some reading enjoyment in these selections!

Bookcast 7

The long-awaited Bookcast 7 is here! Seriously, folks, sorry for the delay--but I took a little time off to catch up on reading and to explore some new technology. Each bookcast takes quite a bit of preparation, and I had to put this one on the back burner. I also made it just a little bit too long! The last couple of slides are cut off, but they're just the ones where I say goodbye and it wasn't a big enough deal to re-do the whole thing. I'll watch the clock next time!

Bookcast 6: Have a Heart

Bookcast 6 is here, just in time for February. Its theme is "Have a Heart," but don't worry--it's not a collection of love stories (although I did sneak one or two of those in.) Selections include everything from heart transplants to reggae music, plus a sprinkling of Shakespeare and some timely information about what's on stage this month at the Foothills Playhouse.

Woo hoo! Bookcast 5 is here. Listen to it as soon as possible for a great selection of books plus some timely information about The Complete Jane Austen being broadcast on PBS. Also, be sure to read the January 18th Library Update for information about the newest Expressions program at the Pickens County Public Library.

Bookcast 5 is in progress--watch for it soon! Thanks go to Fullmetal Runt and Principal Cory for your positive comments. Everyone is free to comment on any of the bookcasts, so please chime in with your thoughts, reactions, and suggestions.

The Pickens County Public Library will be starting a new Expressions program soon. On February 19th, you can head to the Hampton Memorial branch in Easley at 3:30 for an afternoon of gaming that includes Monopoly, Scrabble, Uno, Scrabble, or a game you bring with you. Find out more by clicking right HERE and clicking on the Expressions tab under Upcoming Events.

Thanks for visiting, and don't forget to read!
